BOPET Film

BOPET Film

BOPET is an acronym for “Biaxially Oriented Polyethylene Terephthalate.”

PET: Polyethylene Terephthalate, a common engineering plastic. The familiar water and soda bottles we use are made from PET. It inherently possesses good physical and chemical properties.

Biaxially Oriented: This is the core process in its manufacturing. A molten, extruded PET sheet is stretched simultaneously or sequentially in both the machine (longitudinal) and transverse directions at specific temperatures and speeds. This process aligns the PET polymer chains in an orderly fashion within the plane of the film, dramatically enhancing its properties.

Through the biaxial orientation process, BOPET film acquires far superior characteristics than ordinary PET material.

BOPET Film: The “Versatile” Material of Modern Industry

In every corner of our daily lives and modern industry, there is a material that, though thin as a cicada’s wing, plays an indispensable and critical role. From the packaging of the bottled water we drink and the insulating materials inside our smartphones, to solar panel backsheets and liquid crystal displays, it is everywhere. This material is **BOPET film**—a high-performance polymer with exceptional properties.

 Properties

  • Ultra-high mechanical strength (>200 MPa)
  • Temperature resistance from -70°C to 150°C
  • Excellent aroma retention, wear & scratch resistant

Applications

  • Beverage bottle labels, heat-seal lids
  • Electronic insulation film, solar backsheet
  • Premium lamination outer layer

 Common Thickness

  • 6–50 μm
